May be true, but it is recorded intact and completely in the Akasha.
We should have a silent seminar on Buddha sitting...
Nigeria:
Now you tell me... Does this sound like my God of The Truth, the Light and the Way? Read this excerpted from the Complete Jewish Bible's book of Joshua:
19 Y’hoshua said to ‘Akhan, “My son, swear to Adonai, the God of Isra’el, that you will tell the truth and confess to him. Tell me, now, what did you do? Don’t hide anything from me.” 20 ‘Akhan answered Y’hoshua, “It is true: I have sinned against Adonai, the God of Isra’el. Here is exactly what I did: 21 when I saw there with the spoil a beautiful robe from Shin‘ar, five pounds of silver shekels and a one-and-a-quarter-pound wedge of gold, I really wanted them. So I took them. You will find them hidden in the ground inside my tent, with the silver underneath.” 22 Y’hoshua sent messengers, who ran to the tent. It was all there, hidden in his tent, including the silver underneath. 23 They took the things from inside the tent, brought them to Y’hoshua and all the people of Isra’el, and put them down before Adonai.
24 Y’hoshua, together with all Isra’el, took ‘Akhan, the son of Zerach, with the silver, the robe, the gold wedge, his sons, his daughters, his cattle, his donkeys, his sheep, his tent, and everything he had, and brought them up to the Akhor Valley. 25 Y’hoshua said, “Why have you brought trouble on us? Today Adonai will bring trouble on you!” Then all Isra’el stoned him to death; they burned them to ashes and stoned them. 26 Over him they piled a great mound of stones, which is there to this day. Finally Adonai turned away from his fierce anger. And this is why that place is called the Valley of Akhor [trouble] to this day.
I'm sorry but why (again) would anyone want to give one iota of credence to this shameful and undeniably hypocritical excuse for a true piece of historical literature?
This story definitely doesn't bring out any spiritual zeal or inspiration for me, instead it reminds me more of the terrors of Rome, under its campaigns for conquest, or the reign of Herod Antipas (who was serving Rome), or the Dark Ages of His Holy Inquisition... or Vlad the Impaler, or Hitler's third Reich... The list goes on--yet, as much as I like to paint pretty pictures out of ugly images, I think I'm going to stop right there for fear of triggering my (comfortably numb) gag reflexes... Hey Everybody, I have a splendid idea...
Gather up all your rope, torches and pitchforks, 'cause were gonna have us a good old fashion witch hunt... Oh yeah and bring all the single pretty ladies too, 'cause you juss can't truss 'em not to tempt ya over to the Devil, Good Lord forbid!

This is a perfect example of contextual fishing. I agree personally, however I learned a long time ago to never 'throw the baby out with the bathwater.' It took me a lifetime to be sure enough of my convictions -decades of study interaction, prayer, and profound epiphanies to achieve discernment of the parts of Divine Truth mixed in with the human confusion.
Religionists do this same thing, only in reverse; they fish out phrases and meanings to support their various doctrinal hypothesis.
There is such confusion in the world, A wise man tries diligently to not add to it. IMO.
The children of Man need clarity. Granted, the constant repetition of antiquated, and perhaps even erroneous 'scripture' taken and mistaken to be Absolute Truth is one of the greatest contributions to ignorance and confusion, besides Hollywood, but contained within the whole of the substance are great pearls of knowledge and wisdom that are "Absolute Truths" that are even more valid and pertinent today because a great many more people are capable of really beginning understanding.
The trick, and the Grand Difference between Living the Truth (the Living Word), and just Stating (parts of) the Truth (scripture) is all about Faith and Belief, and the Intention and focus of the faith and belief.
One finds their own way to the truth simply by these means. If one is truly searching for truth itself, then the Scriptures fit quite well in the mix as a reference, and testament of others who have trod that path before us. But if one is searching the scripture for proof of their own personal intentions (having only limited concern for the truth - more of an intent to find content that cannot be refuted because of the comfortable crowd that has come to accept the doctrine) then they are confused, and as Mick Jagger put it;
"And what confuses you, is just the nature of my game."
Let me put it another way.
If you seek the truth, you shall find it. But the Truth resides in everything, even evil, for 'evil' is just an absence, more than it is a presence and is not hidden, or exclusive.
If you seek the truth -without hidden personal agenda- then you will be led to your own magnificent experience and epiphany. Then you will possibly be led to 'scripture' which contains record of others who have had similar experience, and you achieve confirmation. That confirmation, I believe, is the real nature and reason for scripture, even is it has been corrupted just like everything else in the luciferian world, and that is why you cannot search within it for truth, without first acquiring an experiential knowledge of what Truth is!
As a follower of Yashua's example and teachings -found in other places besides just fundamental texts- I find that he had answers for just about everything -if not everything (we don't have all that he gave to us, thanks to the church). I also find that those same answers exist in a safe place, undisturbed by conquerors and false teachers. I call it the 'Akasha' because that description fits the 'Universal Library' quite well.
It is terribly unfortunate that most people cannot distinguish the difference between the information in, and access to, the Akasha from their own mind and mental programming.
It took Buddha years of meditating to find the library door.
Yashua was IMO a living access to that information.
Those who can overcome their false doctrinal programming with desire for Truth -not a concealed denial labeled as such-, can find it, and as Yashua said,
"The truth shall set you free."

Also, I would like to clarify that the 'Book of Joshua' is from the old testament, and refers to Moses Lieutenant; 'Joshua' or 'Y'hoshua' (also the 'rediscovered' name of Yashua, (or 'jesus' -which I will not honor because it is a deliberate slight on the meaning and origin of the name).
It is not a record of Yashua's sayings or doings. In fact it is an example of how minute detail is recorded by zealous men as if it were grand truth, and one of the aspects that sets the 'Testament of Yashua' in contrast - not contradiction- to the 'old testament.'
